As we head into summer, now is the perfect time to get outside. Whether you're ready for a hike or planning a family picnic, be sure to visit these amazing parks in Edmonton.
Rundle Park
Rundle Park is located on the north bank of the river in northeast Edmonton. This is not your average park. It features sports areas for baseball, soccer, tennis, beach volleyball, frisbee and even horseshoe; multi-use trails perfect for a hike, run or bike ride; a paddling center; picnic sites and a golf course! In winter, locals flock here for its toboggan hills and IceWay.
Sir Wilfred Laurier Park
Sir Wilfred Laurier Park is located in Edmonton's west end on the north bank of the river. A great place to spend the day, it features walking and cycling trails, picnic sites, two natural playgrounds and a boat launch.
Buena Vista Park
Buena Vista Park is located on the north bank of the river, near Sir Wilfred Laurier Park and Hawrelak Park. It's named for, and known for, its beautiful view. It features a large off-leash area for dog owners and multi-use trails for fitness junkies. It is also home to Yorath House, a rental facility which is available for year-round bookings.
Hermitage Park
Hermitage Park is located in the north-east end of Edmonton. It features walking and cycling trails, a large off-leash dog area pet owners will love, picnic sites, and a large pond that attracts wildlife and is open for non-motorized boating. While you can't zip around on a motorboat, you can fish and paddle on the pond!
We hope you'll pay a visit to these fabulous parks in Edmonton this summer!
